Again, a pretty strong rating for the win! A 9 or a 10 would have to be reserved for the real thing. I added vanilla and a dash of cinnamon but you can add anything you’d like. We didn’t even add syrup but did add butter. I’ve heard of people using honey or peanut butter as well. We will be having these again very soon.
This weeknd we will be watching the Texans playoff game with family and also visiting my brother sister-in-law, niece, nephew and mom for dinner on Saturday. (Go Texans! One can dream 🙌) Have a lovely weekend yourself!😉
This day was made of many urges to nap and dragging myself through the motions. However, this meal was a pretty fun way to end the day. Besides kicking myself all day to stay awake, my husband and I had to get a little creative with tonight’s recipe. Instead of brandy I used white wine and instead of beef stock I used chicken stock. 😑 I wish I could claim that our creativity was planned but it was due to accidentally leaving off some key items on the grocery list. As Julia Child put it, “No matter what happens in the kitchen, never apologize.”

Tonight’s recipe is one from the Pioneer woman. If you haven’t tried one of her recipes then head over to her amazing blog. Despite our emergency additions we still really enjoyed the flavors of this dish and had a lot of fun making it. However, we do recommend using her choices and are looking forward to trying it her way soon!
A new year means trying new things.
Tonight’s dinner was:
Parmesean Crusted Salmon with Asparagus

This recipe is thanks to Goodful’s wonderful videos. If you haven’t checked them out you should. Based on the rating above I’d say this was pretty close to a home run!
Wishing you and yours a Happy New Year!
